hi guys, I have a few questions, first I have a mtn max 700 with power inc end dumps, v-force reeds with spacers on my sled.
What do I need to do to get that sled from over reving? I have gotten a clutch kit from hauck but I am still running 9000 to 9200 rpm. I think that I would be running 8400 rpm? Is this right??
What clutch kits do you guys run? Or should oem Yamaha stuff, if so what do I need to get to make this sled work?
I am going be riding at 10000ft if that will help any one out.
Any help would be great............Thanks.........

We need more clutch info. (wieghts, spring, secondary helix, etc) Initialy sounds like you need to add more weight to the primary. How does it pull?

Check with Tom Hartman @ 208 468 1073. I had one of his kits in my 00 Mountain Max and it really worked.
He is a great guy and he will work with you and he rides the mountains.

I run SLP pipes and my '00 MM 700 runs peak at 8800...I have played with the weights to get it to this. Ryan at Valley Yamaha in Chilliwack BC. helped me all the way. He would even phone me on Tuesday to find out how I was running on the weekend. Now it is so dialed in, it's fun to watch the 800's working there ass off to stay ahead. I recommend pulling the primary to change weights...saves lots of time and grief. My machine is altitude sensitive...at 3000' I will rev at 9200 but as I climb in altitude, my rpms drop to the zone I want...I ride 5000-8500 most rides.
SLP has all this on there web page as well.
Good luck

What elevation are you at, what is in there for clutching now & what rpm,s are you at. The more info you give the better your responses will be.

I am at sea leval and about 3/4 throttle I am running about 9000 rpm. I have talked to Titus at Hauck performance and he has said that I need to add weight and that for every 75-100 rpm you need to take off, you should add 1 gram of weight? Is this true? I am going to be leaving for Togwotee tomarrow. But I will try what Titus said and hopefully that will be right for me........thanks.........
