Hi folks I can't get my nephews 440 to run
If I choke it the engine revs to the point of engagement and without the choke it will just sputter and Die
I have tryed everything I know
which includes
fuel lines/filter/pump
cleaned carb
inspected reeds
compression is 120 in each hole
I isolateed the carb by setting up a gravity feed directly to the carb with no different results
I sprayed starting fluid around the crank seals and it did not rev up so I assume they are fine
What is next???
Thanks guys
:o|

It sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Are you getting fuel to the fuel bowl? Could be the pilot circuit is plugged even though you thought you cleaned the carb. Did you spray the carb with spray gumout and then use a little compressed air to blow things out? Needle and seat okay? Good spark? How about the air screw circuit? Are the plugs wet after it dies? If dry then it's an issue with the carb.

it will run when you choke it or even feather the choke at idle but if you try to give it any throtle at all it will just die
I did note the headlight is very dim even at 3500 rpms???
Hey thanks for your help If I can make this thing go I will have a very happy nephew!!!!
OBTW
I did the carb gumb out commpressed air thing and all passages seem to be clear
There is however one hole as you look from the airbox side of the carb at 6:00 that will not blow through I assumed it is a set screw am I wrong?

That's an air screw (jet)that should have nothing to do with your problem. No leaks on the intake boot? None at the manifold on the cylinders? How about a bad vacuum line going to the fuel pump from the bottom end? If it's cracked anywhere it will not give the proper pulse to the pump. Check to see if the fuel bowl has fuel in it. No water in fuel is there? Old gas?
