from Holtzman Atacc directions?
4. Jet Carbs (main jets AND NEEDLES ) for your base altitude and temperature (including any modifications). The pilot circuit may need richened especially if the altitude change is large. Multiple (non-insulated) pipes cause temperature extremes which may require richer jetting than the pipe manufacturer's recommendations when used with this product.
last year out west I was fouling plugs boondocking and am trying to not have the same problem

Misread your post I thought you where talking mains. Maybe they want the bigger pilots as a saftey for coming down in elevation. Maxdlx

I used this Yamaha spec setting for Cooke City many times and it worked well. Main#143.8/Pilot jet #55/jet needle clip 2.5/pilot screw 3 1/8 out. I don't know why the pilot number is larger but I know this set up works and I just put it back in my sled yesterday for a trip to cooke next week. my .02
