I have a 97 700sx that has developed an overheating proble. When I orriginally got it, I had to weld a hole shut in the front heat exchanger due to a stud going thruogh it. I rode it a least 1000 miles after that without a problem. I just changed antifreeze, bled the air out of the system and it still overheats. I tested the temp sending unit and it tested fine. I checked the thermostat and discovered that it hasn't had one as long as I have owned it. Has anyone out ther had a problem with the waterpumps on these machines?

ur head gasket may be bad. run the sled and see if ur coolent lines are hard. if so its a bad head gasket. from there if its not that id check the water pump. my brother had his screw back off the impeller. but firs make sure its realy not just air bound some where.
