Do I have to remove my stock pips on my SRX to take out and install a new silencer? Is there some write up here on how to do this?

Is there a diagram for splicing into the wires under my handle bars to install the cable for my heated shield?

I checked the Tech forums and did nots ee anything.

Thanks

For the silencer, just undo all of the springs on the stock one and you can slide it off of the pipes. To remove it just lift the pipes up a little and you can slide it right out. You dont have to take the springs off at the motor.

For the heated shield you just splice into the blue wire under the ber pad for the positive feed and ground the negitive to a frame bolt. I use the bolt that holds the air box right behind the grip control.

One more question

So I just cut the blue wire in the middle. Skin the plastic coating back on the blue wire back on both sides. Then use a adapter where I can slide the wire in on one side and on the other side slide the other end of the wire and the wire for the heated shield. Then crimp the adapter on both sides so the wire are crimped in.

Get yourself a three way connector for a professional like touch, but if you just want to get it done fast take a regular blue type two end connector and cut the blue wire. Twine together the positive wire from the heated sheild and one of the freshly cut blue wires. Crimp those two together with one end of the connector. Next crimp the other end of the connector to the blue wire. Take some electric tape and dont be shy covering the connector and any wire left showing. (This will give you more protection from wear on the wires and or connector.) The last thing you need to do is like edunn69 said. Ground the neg. wire from the sheild to the airbox bolt. You now have heated faceshield.
