My 03 Mtn Viper with less than 1000 kms is on her 2nd pull cord this year. The cord keeps breaking about a half foot from the handle. It looks worn out but i cant see where it rubs.
Anyone has any ideas let me know.

i think there is a bushing you can place in one of the rub points

The rope runs aginst the top of the chain case and it is metal to rope.
You can buy a bushing from Yamaha that will help. We finally got some high strength braded rope off the snow west forum and haven't had any problems since.

Yes Yamaha has made a plastic pice that you put on your chain case to stop that from breaking, the part number is 8FF-1546C-00 that should take care of you........
