Is this all you would have to do to make the 2002 srx into a 2001 electronics wise? I see the cdi's are the same part number.
no, its the wiring harness and cdi that would need to be changed, the stators will be the same
The CDI's are a different part number, there is an error in the Yamaha online microfiche.

ALLAN, I THINK I CAN REMEBER GETTING IN A PRETTY GOOD DISCUSSION WITH YOU OVER CDI,s ON SRX,s. I BELIEVE YOU STATED THERE WAS NO DEFFERECE IN 00-01-02. I HEARD 01 WERE DEFFERNT !! 3:16 (tony)
on the srx's its easy, the 98-99 are the same, the 2000,2001,2002 are all differnt, they WONT interchange, the connectors are all differnt for the differnt years. So in order to use a differnt year cdi box then your sled if a 2000-02, you need the entire wiring harness to go with it......ouch

DON, NOW THAT I UNDERSTAND. BUT I WAS TOLD THERE ARE PERFORMANCE DEFFERENCES!! 3:16 (tony)
No performance differences between the 00, 01, or 02. They all have the same timing curve, powervalve opening sequence, etc. The 00, 01, and 02 do have different plug-in's on them and won't interchange though.
