2004 Viper S won't transfer for me!!!!!!

I weigh 165 and have the back shock raised to top hole, limit straps way loose, transfer rods way out. Machine has 144 1.325 studs on the Ripsaw track. Lots of spinning. Ordered Goodwin clutch kit yesterday. Motor does not pull down enough in our estimation. Hopefully heavier primary weights and helix do the job. Should I run a stiffer front ski spring load---and shock??

NEED SOME WHEELY ACTION HERE!!!! LIKE MY OLD 98 SRX!!!! Thanks

The viper s doesn't ransfer without lots of help or good traction, run those adjusters up as far as you can, the center shock spring is too soft, its the weakest one they have, I put the next stiffest one in and it helps it transfer as well as ride better and take some weight off the skies.

The Goodwin kit works well on a sled with studs, it will engage at 4500 and shift at 8600, the problem you may have as I did with mine is, it will spin more because of the engagement and the aggresive helix, I went with a lower engagement and less helix on the start which worked better with the non studded ripsaw.

soften the rear shock put it in the bottom hole and adjust the limiter straps to about 12mm. it wont catwalk but it will transfer, where its a 144" its really hard to get it to catwalk unless ur on a hill.

Yeah---Amen on the Burgers and Bud!!!! Doc says Blood Pressure is a holdback!!! 40 shouldn't be like this!!! Will be looking into that transfer kit fer sure!! Also checking front skid shock adjustment. I have the front clickers set all the way soft---shouldn't affect??? Need to keep engangement down and work this motor----too much revving.

Cheesburgers and beer. Put some weight on to squash that suspension a little!!
i think your right. im about 170lbs and i cant get mine to transfer worth a crap either! last year i ran a 121" ripsaw with 144 studs and angled backers and this year a 136" x 1.75". i dont think a lack of traction is the problem! lol! i can get my polaris to hang them all day though.

Mine doesnt transfer all that well but i will take it as is because at least the skis stay flat around corners. Id rather have a sled that rails around corners and stays flat than pulling wheelies with inside ski lift like the f7's or my friends polaris xc edge.

i like to corner flat too, but i like the option of transfer for off trail or really rough trails.

The cornering thing shouldn't be too big of an isuue. Your braking into it so weight is transfered forward. Getting through the corner may take a bit of body weight transfer---but if we can get the rear weight transfer----then you are hooking up to go straight again!!! I don't believe in this "tearing through" the corners anymore like I used too. TOO many close calls and the trails get hammered to "s**t" with these new aggressive tracks. Thanks for the input guys!!!!!

Will that transfer enhancement kit work on the short track as well? It's not really clear in the ad.

I just rode my 03 Viper today for the first time. Excellant in the corners, but downright scarey above 60 mph darting side to side. I'm a big guy at 6'6" 250lbs. Any suggestions for suspension?

transfer enhancement kit is for mountain riding. too much transfer for trails. to fix the darting read this. it will work! i also suggest some ski savers that he sells. they are cheap and effective! http://www.bergstromskegs.com/oui/darting_solutions.htm

I have to agree with you n2oric on the Berstrom ski savers, plus I added 6" Shaper bars and the darting was gone. The ski saver only cost $15.00? or so.
