Hi guys!
I recently got an exhaust deflector from Rich and I`m not sure on how should be mounted. It came with a mounting bracket.
Here`s my ideas:
This way:
Or this way: (very close exhaust I think)
Or this way:
I guess many of you have installed this on your SRX so I would be glad if you could tell me how it should sit.
Thanks
Joakim

I'd Use the middle idea, that looks the best, But they dont last , i got one on my viper, and the rivets they dont last.. those things take a BEATIN from the snow! once mine comes off im not putting another on, just more hassel! well, hope ya get it on there nice and good!! good luuck
OK auji thanks for the reply! .
But is that the correct way?. I don`t mean to argue but I`m curious
Did you have a powder snow issue ?.
Aslo, when using the "middle" method, I can`t use the mounting bracket that you are suppost to use. Will be difficult to mount it without the bracket.. .

kimoaj, the srx will not let you install a yamaha oem snow deflector from a mountain max or a viper (different)
you may check with guys who have mountain srx's and see what they got under there. ski

If it were me, I would modify the deflector so it would sit flat mounted in postion 1. I would notch the sides of the delector to allow clearance for the factory molding on the bellypan (If you can).
Ok guys thanks for the advice!.
I though this was a "bolt on" but it abviously isn`t .
nben:
Is this what you ment?.
What does notch mean?.

In reply nr. 2 a guy sais that he is missing the mounting bracket, that`s why it wount fit an SRX. And hey, I have that bracket:

that deflector and bracket (2 piece unit) is for the mountain max, they have a flat belly like an sx sxR. it wil not work on and srx without modding the bellypan or the mount and deflector been there done that.
you can buy a universal one from SLP, do without one, mod that one, or ask the guys with mountain srxs (as stated above) what they are doing. ski

Ok skidooboy! .
Is the factory molding hollow inside?.
Maybe I just could remove the molding and place the bracket where it should sit?.
I guess I can`t place the deflector right above the outlet, guess it will restrict the gas flow.
Hmm I`ll figure it out!

You can also make your own with a little creativity and a few beers!
Haha yeah shortstop I guess so.
But that wount work either because I don`t drink.
But give me a coke (glass bottle) and I`ll fix it ! .
If I don`t use the deflector then I wasted money, I don`t like that.

Sold one on e-bay about a month ago for the exact same reason... PITA to mount to an SRX and it was way too close to the ground for my liking.
