My wife needs a new sled but she does not want anything to heavy.
So do I buy her a 550 rev or wait to see what Yamaha comes out with in 2007?

The gay dog option is tempting, but I'd wait to see what's up for 07.

The gay dog option is winning by the way.
I'd wait. But I'm not a doo fan.

Ride maybe... but pushing thru corners on precision skis? Not for me.

too bad the 550 doesnt have precision skis. the 05 had no precision skis and the 06 has the new pilot 5.7 skis.

my wife came off of a 00 sxr 600 to an 05 vector er.... she loves it....
she says she would never go back to the older yami... the weight isnt an issue.....

I heard a rumor that a twin 4 stroker is comming out with about 60-70 horses, lite weight like the phazer,so that might be a option?????

Id see what Yamaha brings out for '07 or Id try to find her a Venom. Ive ridden a few REVs and didnt care for the riding postion. If you like to stand up all the time they are nice, but they arent a sit-down trail rider sled.

My wife weighs in at 120 pounds and she just bought an Attak. Yea, it's big, but she loves it...(did I just say that?). Anyway, it's a lot of sled, but it has a great stable feel to it and it has everything she wants. Yea, she is a bit spooked by the power, but when we rip across the lake, she likes the ability to be right there with us now.......and she's no slouch on the flipper. Reverse, electric start and a great ride. She's not into off trail stuff, so an extra light machine isn't really something she had to consider. Not trying to sway your opinion, but just giving you some thoughts about our situtation.

DR Nitro, don't hang your hat on a small entery level sled from Yamaha. That market is flooded, and is also why the Phazer went the way of the dodo. Put her on as many different sleds as you can, and let her choose. My wife is getting a 600 sdi renegade next season, but she did say the apex chassis was in 2nd place for her style. Ecopter, you did'nt even bother to call us with the news?

Ah, didn't want to brag. I am a bit jealous, but I still really like riding my RX1Boss!
Sorry, next time I'll post it for all to see!

I like the pogos as well. but only on the vmax 4 (the coolness of that sled outweighs all shortcomings) or on the 96 xt sleds (the rear made the front worth-while) honestly, my dad had a 96 xt. my viper weighs more but feels lighter. that front end went where you pointed it because every pound was over the skis! she may like the new yammies!

I would stay away from the REV. I hear alot of women complaining about leg fatigue and sore knees. I would go with a polaris 550 supersport with factory M-10 or a 2 or 3 old 500 or 600 edge chassis polaris. New machines would cost 4500-5500 if you can find a new leftover. Try www.peacockltd.com they are in baldwin MI and have really good prices and service. The number is 1-231-745-4606
