Gas
It's not ok to run regular gas, You should always try 100% to run Premium. Gas now adays with all the additives can take a motor down and cause carb issues with mositure in the gas. it's the old saying you get what you pay for. Granted many times up north and in the woodlands you cannot get premium on a ride but if it is there you should take it over regular unleaded any day of the week PERIOD. Anyone who knows engines and does R&D knows this. I'm not saying that is your problem as you may have a carb issue as well but if you run premium you know its not the gas.

premium fuel
my dealer told me to run regular. he has seen lots of leaning out problems at higher rpms because of water in gas from fuel station in hi-test. usually because they dont sell enough high test. if you have a station that sells lots of hightest go ahead and use it. otherwise stick to regular cause they sell more of it thus less water.

Just my $0.02
You only need to run high octane fuel if your engine requires it. Check your owners manual and ask your dealer. The only difference is high octane fuel has more resistance to detonation. I've personally never had a fuel related problem running regular fuel in a motor that only called for regular fuel. If your engine requires high octane fuel or it is modified that's a different story.
