Hey guys i have a 98 MSRX 700, this sled has hauck clutch kit #4 with www primary spring, 8bu-00 wieghts, 019 on end rivets, silver secondary, L cam, 6-1 spring preload, hauck stingers, bender cold air kit, 150, 150, 152.5 jet 42 idles, 1.5/8 turns on the idle screws, 136 X 1.5 track, geared down 4 sizes...just wondering if there is anything else i can do for low buck improvements to this sled for power...this sled accelerates hard and revs 8200. what about power up kits??? shaving heads or adding base gaskets...what do u guys think?? i am running 92 octane as much as i can...

i would do the head gasket mod and leave the base gasket as is. adding base gaskets would just change the port timing and not add any compression.

For 1 there is no headgasket mod on a srx, they use o-rings. If youd like more power on the 98-99 you can run 2 base gaskets and cut the heads some to regain back the compression, its worth a few hp. A real trail port is better as your not adding alot more deck clearance from the extra gaskets. With the 98-99 cylinders, they have low transfer port timing and provide more torq. and upper mid range power, they gain in the neighborhood of 14-16hp with doing the cylinders, heads and pistons. You will notice how it thinks its a freight train the way it will pull.
