Tail Light on 03 Rx-1

I just put in LED's to replace the stock bulbs on my 03 RX-1. At first when i hit the brake the lights got brighter as they should. Now they don't. The tail lights are on and working they just don't get brighter when i hit the break.....What could it be?

did you happen to put the bulb in backwards. on the package that my bulb came in it says that the bulb wont work properly if its put in the wrong way
