Ohlins in bad shape

I had an argument with a tree on friday, besides all the other pieces i need to put this thing back together, the Ohlins shock is broken right at the bottom ball jont and was wandering if this was repairable. Does the ball joint screw into the shaft, or does the would shock need to come apart and replace the shaft? any ideas would be appreciated

me too but ist the center and its just striped out 75 for a shaft i belive. plus my track rubed threw my rears canister and body costing me 200 for the parts and another 50 or so for labor just for the rear one. i would ahev said F it and not fix them if they werent the race set for the 99 srx's 5 grand for the set thast liek 2 grand for the rare adn 1 grand for the other 3. i got lucky well thought i did with gettin just teh rears in teh sled for 2 grand till i found out he didnt change the top idlers to 7.5 to prevent rub.
 
Thanks boys, i found somebody local that rebuilds them, he said it would be pretty reasonable to fix, what are these things worth new?
 
lots lol! figure about $600 for a new set, if you can find a deal! thats what I have seen, correct me if I am wrong
