I've got a 98 SRX now and saw here somewhere that the later ones had a lighter brake rotor;what years have this and how much lighter is it and would it be worth the time and effort to change it?I know that reducing rotating mass is essential to performance but I'm a "typical" trail rider with the occasional blast down a river or field thrown in so take this into concideration please. Thanks

the 2001-02 srx or any year viper has the rotor you want, but if your just trail riding, then spend the time and $ in clutching componets, more gain.
Now if you were changing the track or other work and your already there, then heck ya, change it out.

you prob could take your rotor out and bring it to a performance shop and get it drilled like crazzy, theres a shop near my place that will machine just about anything you want in your rotors, I even seen a guy with his name

I have recently heard that the new 07 phazer rotors will work on a SRX/Viper aswell and I heard the are heeps lighter. Far lighter then even the viper rotors. If anyone could clarify this, that would be great. Thanks

I know this is an old post but approx. how much lighter is the 02-04 viper rotor compared to a 99 SX rotor? Thanks
Bringing up an old post because I just acquired some information on the topic. A viper rotor opposed to a SRX rotor both stock is .36 pounds lighter. Then if you sent it to us or a machine shop who will drill it, we can take another ~.6 pounds out of it by drilling it. Hope this information helps you all. Thanks
