SRX CDI and carb rack on bender piped viper

I know there has been some discussion in the past of putting SRX carb specs in the viper carbs or just swapping the srx carbs all together. This is supposed to be better due to the better nozzles / needle combination. A friend of mine keeps burning down his viper in random occurrences. Jetted to what bender recommends, has opticool head gasket and rear heat exchanger, and all three cylinders have gone done at some point or another. When head is pulled the other cylinders had good wash and plugs. Air temperature hasn't seemed to make a difference. It'll burn down in 25F weather the same it burns down in 0F weather. I suspect detonation in the 8000 to 8600 from the timing spike. My SRX race box is working real well on my mod viper, but will a stock srx box have enough timing at 88-8900. Or do you think the power band will move down a little with the srx box? Also will going to the SRX jets specs yield better mileage or are the viper pipes destine to have crappy economy?
