I just bought a '98 SRX 700 earlier this winter, well I just tore the power valves out to clean them up and one of the valves was positioned differently.
What way SHOULD they be placed into the cylinder head... the ramped area or the power valve facing up (towards the head) or facing down (towards the exhaust). I want to make sure I get it put back together the correct way.
Thanks

if you dont put them in right they will hook on the cylinders.....I would say the bigger sloped part up....if I can see it right in my head. With head off it should be easy to tell or reach your fingures up inside the exhaust side it should all be flush with the valves pulled up.

Here's a link to a picture, maybe that will answer your question. It's in the "cylinder head" section.

Real simple . . .
The long part goes up.
In other words the bevel is down.
The best pic I know of this is in the '02 Tech Update where it shows the difference between the SRX valves and the ones on the Viper.

Ding is right, bevel side goes down. When the valve is fully open this bevel matches up with the top of the exhaust port.
