Is there something really wrong with my 2002 srx? I have 8bu's, white blue white spring, green spring at "normal" wrap and I believe a 51/43 helix and 22/40 gearing. I also have a 1,5 inch track.
Rpms are at 8500 and belt seems to be going all the way up, as high as it can on a stock yamaha primary. My problem is that the sled barely goes 100 mph. 105 tops! What is wrong here??? I thought it would at least go 110 with that track..

try running more tip weight and less finish angle in the secondary, but that track will murder top end nevertheless

That track absolutely kills top speed. I had a 1.4 on my RX-1 & had trouble hitting 100 mph. I switched to a 9830 1" & gained 12 mph.A combo of the gearing & track destroys top speed but your gonna win a lot of 660' races like that.

First of all your geared down from 23/38 which is stock and that 1.5 inch track will suck alot of top end for sure.
So there may not be anything wrong at all? Ok say I want to be able to hit 115, what track and gearing do I need then?

9830 track, 23/38 or 22/38 gearing.
9830 is a 1 incher then? I wonder what these people who run 120 on their srx s are running for gearing and track? Are their sleds still stock?

You can hit 120 but will need a .92 clipped track(or less); stock weights(89a-10;8dn-00 also work well), about 144ish picks on perfect ice; suspension tied down with limiters sucked way up.

I have a 1.5 inch Skidoo snowx track on my cpr780, geared 1.86 if I remember right, 105-110 tops, but it gets there pretty quick.
Thanks for the replies guys. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with my sled then

you are geared for 101 mph @ 1:1. yamaha clutches have 5% o.d. = 106 mph.
change the top gear to a 23 & you will pick up 5 - 10 mph depending on the surface conditions, which dictates the amount of o.d. you can achieve.
