Hey guys, Yesturday, my dad and I headed out to Minoqua in hopes of finding some good races. After waiting while and egging some people on we finally got some bites. Over by the whale, we sw two mach z's drive by and we followed them pass the bridge to race. We raced three times. The first time we raced, it was my SRX 700, my dads rx-1, and the Mach-z (Just one). When we went, I couldn't find good traction and neither could my dad because his track was slipping. The Mach-z lauched with the longer track. We were pretty far back and I couldn't catch him by the end but my dad flew by him at the last 300 feet with the nitrous. I noticed that the Mach-z didn't appear to have any more topspeed then me.

The next time we raced, it was me, a rev 800, and 2 mach z's. Once again I couldn't hook up and the track was very bumpy however I was ahead of the rev 800 the entire race and kept pulling. The one mach-z I was catching at the end of the race but not enough time and the other one I stuck with. I noticed that the longer track was just killing me.

On the last raced I asked if we could go from a roll against the two mach Z's. We hit it at about 30 and I was liking my odds. The one mach-Z was behind the entire race and couldn't catch me at all. The other was right next to me the entire race except at the very end where he couldn't keep up with my top end. I was so happy that I could take it on the big end. We ended up talking to them after all the racing and we found out that they were summer draggers so they knew thier stuff. Thier Mach-Z's were running good too. On the last drag when I beat both of them, they came over and asked if I was running a 1000 kit under my hood. I said no, he then asked If I was running a Turbo. All I could do was laugh as I opened my hood and he saw it was just a polished to death stock motor.

Thought I would share this info with you guys to show that the SRX can still handle anything out thier.

Today I plan on racing an RTX and an F& or Thundercat. I am feeling prretty strong going in.

lawsuit!!!

Those Mach Z owners should file a lawsuit for false advertizing, 170 hp. don't think so! Thanks for the update! 2000 are you gonna be at crusier fest next saturday? I'm bringing out the big gun to the radar run, hope to see ya there!! When dealing with cat owners, I speak softly, and carry a big stick! They never know what hit'em....LOL

As soon as my dad sells his rx1 we are going to get the new 2007 apex version. I will change that in the profile, I forgot that was still there. We had intensions of purchsing the apex in the beginning of last year.

I am running a 9830 with 144 studs down the center. However, the Mach-z's were both running a longer track with studs and a 1 3/8" lug. The snow was not really suit for racing and it was a little sloppy but hardpack none the less. My dad was running a ripsaw and I stay right next to him out of the hole.

See aren't you glad I didn't come with, youj'd be having to tell everyone how bad I beat everyone......................................

Vipertripplexxx, it aint the motor that is killing them, it's the suspension that's slowing them down, that motor DOES have the jam, no doubt there.

edit: spelling

All I know is the Doo's are sure having their fair share of mechanical problems. I sneak over to dootalk.com once in awhile just to do some reading. Same goes for Polaris. There is alot of not so good things about the Fusions on amsnow and hardcoresledder. The funny thing is how many times I have read...."I've had it" !!! I'm switching to Yamaha. Then the Doo or Polaris faithfuls point out the wheels and the handwarmers on the APEX. LOL!!!!....... when they are experiencing loads of larger failures like pistons, poor performance, poor fuel comnsumption, the list goes on.

they all have their share of issues, it just seems to me that it is smaller annoyances with yamaha than the others. and hardly ever any catostrophic ailures. it happens for sure, but seems like less with yamaha.

I was racing today also I embarresed alot of sleds with my clutched 98 srx 700. I beat a rev 800, f7, zr900 and even a new machz 1000. I asked the guy on the mach if he was giving it all she had and he said he was . I couldnt believe it.

I put my cousins 97 mach on it's back this weekend with my 01 srx at tip up town. He has been talking big smack since he bought it 2 weeks ago. He has it clutched and studded and mine is clutched, rip saw and a can. From a roll I walked him pretty bad. From a dig it was closer but after 80 mph I started to pull away. He started blaming it on my can, but didn't believe me when I told him the can took away a few horses.

Yea I hear ya, but the f-7's have a huge suspension, and it does not seem to be a huge speed killer for them? Also I have an m-10 and easily walk f-7's and doo 800's. I'm just saying thats an advertized 30 horse power on an srx, no way Hosay! 155 maybe.

all about efficiency. yamaha tends to be down on power but also tends to use more of it. more gets to th esnow, and thus they are able to keep up and stay reliable
