an egt on a single piped viper might be a little over kill. but for the guy that needs to know what his sled doing all the time. what is the best way to install one? 1 probe in the pipe or 3 separate probes in the manifold?

lets think about this now if ya used 1 probe in the y pipe, how would you ever know which of the 3 cylinders is burning down.................
The only correct way to do it is with 1 probe in each pipe, but it is a total waste of $$. I can see it if your running triple pipes, but with stock pipe and stock jetting she will run forever without worries.

plus I don't believe you can get 3 probes into the manifold and be 6 to7 or 8 inchs(have to dobble check it's been a while ) from the piston skirt for proper readings

i tried this when i was experimenting with my tempaflow and different locations. it doesnt really work too good. what happens is you get way different temps on all three. the middle one runs scalding hot all the time as it is constantly being hit by heat feedback from the other two. the two outside ones showed within 100deg of each other most of the time. it worked for what i was doing but for using it to save a sled from burn down, dont waste your money.
