The head gasket that was on the machine and which I believe is stock, has one coolant port/channel that was closed off except one small hole the diameter of pencil lead. It seems to be the middle layer of that gasket that closed off the port/channel. The two outer layers have the opening cut in. But...the new thin gasket is open to the same extent as the port/channel on the head and cylinder. Am I ok here??? Need advice quick...Thanks.

I think they runn hotter with the thinner gasket so I think you should be ok . The reason I say that is I have over heated twice in poor snow conditions ,and that never happend with the thick gasket . Don't take this as gospel iot just what I experienced .

if the hole is a bit bigger, just means more coolant flow. I recall when i did mine that there was a slight size difference but no big deal. It has been 4 years with no problems. I used a 6mm (yami #8CA-11181-00-XX)

Thanks gentlemen.
I called Maximum Performance and they confirmed it was the right gasket. It is for more coolant flow...but there were two additional for each jug...not one as originally reported. Anyway went out Thurs afternoon. About 10" of new snow on a solid 3' base. It snowed all day and all night so that we had about 2' of new snow on top of the base for Friday. The MM ran beautifully. Three weeks ago, I copied Flying Dutchman's needle jet setting and it was a significant improvement. The new .8 gasket just adds to the fun. I'm lovin it. Thanks for your help.
