Just curious if this sounds right...
I have a new to me 01 SRX 700 with 3000 miles. The engine is stock with new and adjusted power valves, clean carbs and a new belt. The sled has Ski Doo prceision skis, an M-10 and 1.25"camoplast track.
On hardpack this weekend I hit 102 on the speedo - 95 on GPS. This seems a bit slow to me, do these modification take away that much top end?

a m-10 will rob speed, along with a larger track, but I still think you should go a few mph faster. How new is the belt, clutch, how good is compression? These are all good places to start.

I have a new 2001 Srx and could only get 105 mph on the lake this weekend (Lake Gogebic). I'm runnin a ripsaw with a mono skid and i thought it was a little slow also. I raced a 2000 Srx with the 911 Hi Tech secondary and primary setup (Primary weights?) and he just killed me. But he beat a RX-1, F7, and sh*t you not was only about a sled lengh or two behind a Apex. I will have some video clips on these runs in the next week or so. Seen alot of Yamaha's this weekend but din't run into you sbojan but ran into a couple other members but dont remeber who?

I have an 01 SRX, also with an M-10 in the rear and a Camo Ripsaw 1 1/4" (since changed to a Camo Ice-Ripper) and was getting the speedo up to 115 on the lakes last year. I also have a Heel-clicker setup in the clutch. Sounds like you should be getting a wee bit more out of it. Before I had the M-10 and Ripsaw (just clutched and studded) I was easily getting 115-120 on the speedo. You will loose some top end with the M-10 and heavier track but you should be doing a little better.

I recently juyst got 114 on the gun with my 2000 srx on hardpack within ~2000 feet. On ice I am sure I can break 120 on the gun no problem.
We have a stock srx that runs 121mph on radar in otis, 1400' elavation.

I am wondering if it was just the conditions on LG this weekend that was keeping the speed down. I am not upset with my top speed given the ride comfort I have.
Blue, didn't run into you this weekend, we were at Gogebic Lodge Sat evening but early. Got up to our place @ 1:00 am Saturday due to the snow in Chicago - over an 8 hr drive and all I wanted was a hot shower, as luck would have it the water heater wouldn't work so I spent until 3:00 trying to get hot water. Long story short 3 hours of sleep Friday night had us back at the house by 7:30 Saturday and up early on Sunday. Great riding this weekend, just wish we had stayed a couple extra days, they got over a foot of snow yesterday.

one easy Q
what is you rpm at top end
played with clutch preload this past weekend. moved peak rpm from 8900 ( too high obviously) to 8500-8600 got me 10mph on top end on hardpacked road.
higher drag of the new suspension and track may have the CVT in a different shift position that before.

I am right around 8500 - 8600 at top end, sounds like where I should be.

It was darn near white out when we left yesterday. Ya i'm taking mine in but not till next year and gonna have the carb's tweaked and do some clutching. My brother inlaws 98' Srx has more snap than mine.
