If you were going to rebuild one cylinder, be it on a twin or tripple, would you while you have it apart re-ring the other cylinder(s)?? I am in the process of replacing a jug and piston on my V-Max but the good cylinder has 120+ psi of compression... which seems pretty good to me. Would you bother with new rings on that one?
I thought I'd put this here in the SRX, Viper section since you guys tend to do more hop ups and damage to your sleds than us lowly twin guys... LOL!!!
Thanks,

How does that other side look??.I think you stated your sled has 3,500miles
on it.....If it was me I WOULD...because oem rings are cheap($27)
By the way my 98 has 126psi in both stock HG and 2,213 miles.

if it is apart and there are some miles I would replace all rings.
I changed a piston in my tripple this year and did all rings to be safe.

Personally I would.
Since you've got it apart anyway and rings is cheap.

At 3500 miles, I'd change rings and pistons while I had it down. One never knows when the piston skirt will fail, if it ever will. It's just not worth the worry to me.

If I had another $60 for a piston I would change the other one... but that one has 120+ psi compression (I wasn't reading the gauge... I was pulling the rope but it was still climbing on the gauge when we decided that wasn't the problem cylinder).... so I'm tempted to leave it alone... cylinder wall looks good... piston looks good... etc...
And I cannot get a ring set locally for $27... more like $35.... guess the no snow thing has them jacking up their prices to try and make ends meet? Money is tight right now...
Thanks for all the advice though... I'll have to see if I can find a ring set quick...
