Well guys i was able to ride the new Apex RTX this weekend in Michigan. I was really impressed with the motor (excellent response and very smooth) and ergonomics were bar none, but i found it to be nothing like the Srx,Sx,Sxr,Viper when it came trail riding. It has such a higher center of gravity you really felt like it was gonna tip over in the corner with all that ski lift. The setup was stock and had no adjustments done to it. My opinion nothing will ever handle like a Srx or Sx.

I rode an attak recently, a friend of mine had a new one and we switched on the trail and I took it for about 10 miles - It was nice, powerful, plush ride, but like you said you ride high in the saddle, and it doesn't handle like my viper - I think the luxury would grow on you though.

How are the trails up there BLUEBY? Who's Apex? I'm hoping Pat's has a demo in Greenland I can try. I'm heading to N. Wisc. this weekend. This warmup does not look good.
get used to the high in the saddle feeling all the new sleds from all brands are heading that way...
i have yet to ride an apex chassis, but have been on a rev, crossfire, and last weekend an IQ, they all sit high in the saddle, it is an adjustment to make, but get used to it, they all will be that way soon.
the touring models may stay traditional seating/posture for a couple more years, but i would be willing to bet that by 2010 there will be not one traditional positioned sled on the market... all will be rider forward and higher in the saddle.
i know my 07 will be...... (and blue too

I wide front end kit by Pioneer will solve that tippy feeling. I worked on my RX-1. I plan on getting one for my Apex too during the off season.

Nothing will beat the
out of you like an SRX or SX either! Spend a day on one and then see what you think. If you jump on one for a few miles, after riding your sled, it's gonna feel very strange... but if you ride one for a day and then jump back on your sled you'll be asking yourself why you've been this thing for so long.

True
VERY true Bigmax, the difference in ride is unbelievable. Now change the spark plugs on the trail in the Apex and you'll wonder just the opposite!!!!! Hopefully mine won't do that to me again for a LONG time.

Bigmax, i installed a mono skid in my srx and ohlins in the front and had it long travelled and too be honest i thought it rode better than the Apex. Granted i need to ride one for more than 30 miles but it will be a tough switch when the time comes.
