Is it normal for a npv 600 tripple to hit 9000-9100 at WOT. I first noticed it last year on a short pond. When I'd nail it it would hit 9000 and go back to 8500 after she started to hook up. I just thought it was conditins. I just went for a little scoot (really wet snow bout foot deep) she just keeps pullin 9000-9100. From reading on here I think she should hit 8500 and stay. What have I gotte do to get them down. The belt only has about 200 miles, all clutches are clean stock everything except for reed notch. Engagement at about 4300-4500 (really soft) Clutches are hot as hell. I have a set of 8AB's that I'm gonna test this weekend and I have a 51/45 helix on the way. Where do I go from here?

Just add a 3.1 gram rivet to tip of stock weights. There are a kazillion posts on here about 600 triples overrevving.

Just checked the tech pages and the weights. There are currently 8CH weights with 3.1g inner and 3.6g in the tip. Turk you said to add 3.1g to the tip but with a 3.6g alredy in there and the largest rivet being 4.5g. Will a 4.5g in the tip will that pull the rpm down enough. Should I use the 8AB's and add some weight or change the rivets in my stock weights to heavier ones. I wouldn't mind if engagement comes out a little harsher. If I want a firmer engagement should I change the o-s-o primary spring or can it be accomplished by loading more weight.

If it is the touring with 8cr,s then go with 4.5 gram inner & outer rivets. If you run 8ab,s try starting with about .8 inner & 2.4 gram outer rivets.

Your not going to believe this but I don't remember. I know it use to be on the tech page. I have 00 sxr 600 and I put gears in it besides. Maybe he can chime in.. Otherwise do a search on sxr cluthing Blueranger seemed to be happy with his set up also. I had a ton of weight in my stock weights and it still overrved.
