I'm looking for a clutch set up with CPR Triple Pipes. Right now I can't seem to get the heat out of the clutches. RPM's are high with a cold 8DN belt. They come down to about 9000 once everything is hot. I can't run a Ultimax for more than 100 miles and it's toast, even toasted a 8DN after about a 1000 miles. Would be willing to start over if anyone has a proven setup that keeps the clutches cool. I don't want to pay for Heelklickers or Heavy Hitters unless that is the only way I'm running a lighting pro roller secondary, so I might be a little different but I can account for that. I run all kinds of conditions from heavy powder to groomed trail. Want something to do it all. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like clutch alignment & centre to centre is wacked. Check that first.

were you running that engine speed before the install of the pipes. Above 8500 RPM???

Its probable hot because your slipping the belt on the primary clutch, thus high engine speeds. What are you running for clutching. Give all info you have.
Checked and re-set center distances and alignment at the start of the season and the sled has been the same from day one as far as heat. If I add rivet to the weights then the RPM are down too far. Prior to the pipes, 8400 early the came down to 8300 at about 1000'. Current clutch set up is as follows and the clutches are cut for full overdrive. 8CA W/0.8 in tip, W-S-W Primary Spring, 14.5mm Rollers. 46-38 Helix W/Hauck Red @ 9-1 on Lightning Pro Roller Secondary. Gearing 20/40. Camoplast 1 1/4" Rip Saw, no studs, Stock Drivers. Elevation 0-2000'.
