I got my sled back today the clutch was totally rebuilt,8dn20 3.6 outer 4.5 inner new rollers and all new internal bushings. My problem I have is the rpms will kick in around 3500-3800 but the sled wont move sometimes until about 6000 rpms it almost feels like the sliders are sticking or you are towing a sleigh. The sled wants to go but something is holding it back!! The primary spring was replaced last year (stock spring) The secondary is 53,43 helix grn spring at 60, tried 70 and the same thing!! I,m at a loss could it be possible the new bushings on the primary need a couple of miles on them to loosen up!! The sleds a viper, I run the track pretty loose! I did notice the primary was very hot to touch where the belt runs but the secondary was nice and cool!! Anybody have an idea what could be going on??

sounds like the bushings or pucks on spider are hanging up, easy way to check is simply remove the clutch cover and spring, see if the moveable sheave slides back and forth on the shaft of the stationary sheave with ease and no hang ups, if this is good try the cover with out spring and see if it has any drag, sometimes when people press in the new bushings, they get a burr on them, youd have to use a real fine file and relieve the burr from bushing take your time doing this.

As Mrviper said something is binding in the clutches. Get in there and find out where it is hanging up.

attention Jrc......I just went through that same senerio this weekend with my high milage srx....lost one when bearing in the rear wheels...and the wheel was floating around....it would bind on the rubber nobs used to drive the track.....check those inner wheels....the thing wouldn't move took a minute figure it out. Sounds basic but you never know!
