Vmax Pump

Hmmm....does look like you got a exh. leak at the head you better fix.
sounds like it's from the right side WP side or could it be the clutch rattling
How tight is the WP belt is it loose and slapping??

It's not hard to pull the rip cord cover off and inspect things, you would
have to pull your pipes off first. how may miles on it???

Exhaust leak?? I think the smoke just blew back i hope, if its leaking at the manifold does that hurt anything? Also how would i got about checking the belt on the pump, just pop the pipes off and un bolt the starter housing. And is there anything in the housing that is under pressure or is it all attached to the plate that would come off.

No nothing under pres. just pop your pipes off and take the rip cord housing
off..there is a inspection hole you can stick you finger into and push down
on the belt to check it too,,look down from up top you should be able to
see it through a hole.

looked like your pipes where leaking at the head when your reved it up.
look for oil seeping down the jug below each pipe.
 
Ya there is a "little" leak there but it isn't too bad, what is the side effect of that other than the oil leaking into the compartment. Also what should i look for when i tear that housing apart. This should give me something todo since we havn't had any snow in the last month i have needed something to do with the sled. :)
 
Mabie BD it's leaking at the joint by the head,is there a gasket between the
pipe and man.?? i'll post some pics in a little wile.
 
there isn't any fumes coming from there just some oil seeping. Is there any bearings or anything in the pump that could cause it to get loud or anything like that, or pretty much a bad pump or bad belt.
 
I checked tension via the inspection hole and it seemed to be just as tight as the one on my dads vmax, i could hear a TINY ting VERY VERY small when i first pushed on it but couldn't get it to do it again, might have hit the pipes or something as well cause it was very very faint and never came back even when i poked at the belt.
 
oil pump or waterpump. I will see if i can get time, before we head upnorth, I am sure it will last a while but its definetly better to get it before its completly shot or it ends up costing more. thanks for the info by the way.
