Ok so I bought a basket case 00' 700 mm and got er rollin' it is clean with all kinds of goodies but my first question is about the tach, my 97' mm 700 has a different tach as the 00' has the gas guage in the tach, is that normal? also the tach is not working,the gas guage does, it has been installed in a lexan hood and appears to be done cleanly but if anyone can feed me a schematic of the tach circut i can chase it out, I looked for the rubbed/burnt/misconnected wires and that is not it, i could use the resistance parameters for the tach also. does anyone have a spare post for a roller secondary(mpi) one of the three is broken, the good news is I scored extros, l/w hood, viper seat, mpi secondary and transfer, hyperfax,peak head, pipes (coated none the less), ported, fabcraft bars and riser, egt's and gobbs of other little goodies all for a song and a dance...and a top end rebuild. any help would be greatly appereciated.

If you have the owners manual. It is in the back. If not go to Yamaha-Motor.com and proceed to snowmobiles. Then click parts. Then click view manuals. It will open in adobe. It shows what you need. I just looked. If you want to sell the head or some of the other parts, let me know.

thanks for the link. the sled is running now so I will not be parting her, in fact it runs flippin' hard. I could really use a troublshooting hand for the tach, am I looking for resistance or voltage, and what triggers the tach, the diagram on yamaha's site of course does not show the tach wire specifically.
