what's the advantage to putting bar risers on your sled? Does it allow better control?, Better maneuverability? I trail ride mostly and am not sure if having my bars higher would be comfortable.

Ive got a 2" riser on my XC and I love it.
In my opinion, taller bars make me feel so much more in control because when I need to stand up, Im not all hunched over the bars.
My brother has an '03 Pro-X 700 and my father has an '03 Pro-X 600, Ive ridden both of these sleds and they are very comfortable for sit-down trail riding.

Iv got a 3" Powermadd and couldnt be happier, mind you, im a tall guy so bar height was very important. It made for very comfortable riding, easier steering and when standing, wow, thats where the biggest difference is! Plus, it looks preety cool too!

I added 2" riser to my viper because the bars would hit my knees when turning. It is not enough for me to comfortably ride standing up but it makes it easier than when stock. I am over 6' tall.

I have 4.5" of riser on my srx with pro taper fat bars and i love it. I like the wider bars, and when you get into the moguls the taller bars i feel gives you far better control. I cant ride a sled without risers now it feels so uncomfortable. I am not very tall also i am only about 5'7

im very happy with my higher bars.....but then again i ride in alot of powder that i need the extra leverage of higher bars....just remember that you can only go so high on the stock throttle cables......and youll defianately need a longer brake line ...

i have an adjustable riser made by ROX...its pretty sick and starts about about a 4 inch rise and goes all the way up to 6 in rise but i use lower bars than stock so things even out...with stock bars i went with a 3.5 inch rise with no problem on stock cables but i used a longer brake line wich was simple to replace...

I just put a 2" Powermadd riser on my SRX last weekend, I tilted the bars up a bit too and i love the way it feels now. Makes such a difference that i'm actually considering ditching it and getting a 4 or 6" riser, i'm just not sure i want to deal with extending the cables.

The generally accepted max riser with stock cables is 2". I installed a plastic 2" riser on my sled this year to try it out. $20 CAN from Royal Distributing. I will probably be going to 4" next season. I like the 2" alot but think 4" would be much better.

Well, I'm 5"11" and have a bone stock srx. I was thnking about risers and after riding, definelty need risers.
Also, I need wider handle bars as the stock ones are jus too tight.
Suggestions for either or both of the above? I have been combing this thread for ideas.
thanks.
