Feeling good today! Took a little trip over to lake minocqua yesterday, trails were shot, so i did some lake racing. The first guy had a 890 mach z, toasted no problem. So we hung out fer a bit. Met some really cool yami guys with Apexes, and an old SRX. Some hardcore doo guys showed up with dynoport piped mach 1000's, one long track, two standard versions. The guy with the 890 said "let me get my other sled". Couple of minutes later he pulled up with a 06 mach z 1000. O.K. time to race! The guys on the apexes kinda just watched. lined em up, doo's on both sides of me, feeling surrounded! yamaha pride is on the line! Smoked all of them bad except for the 06, which was about 3 sled lenghts back at around 1000 feet. Upon returning to the group, I got bombed with questions. Most of there responses were something like NFW! Anyway I found out the 06 mach 1000 had crankshop pipes, fuel injection box, and some way cool looking cylinder heads. He said it dynoed in at 200hp. When they asked me what mine dynoed at, I just said well the lake dyno says it's over 200, Ha ha! Heck I was 400 rpm's lower than I should have been.

This story sound familiar. lol. Nice job, We are coming up over superbowl weekend. You and I should race sometime, that would be an interesting race. We have a place right out on thompson. Let me know. Once again congrats.

Awsome job!!!!

Yamaha represent!!

So far, all the indy 500's iv raced have all been killed, same with a ZL500, and took a formula 583 right down to the end of the lake, where the race was over!, so I won!

BTW, that is one awsome Viper!!

Wow..... you should feel good man....thats some stong iron there!!!!\

Yours must be running top notch. ;)!

how can something with 200HP not get you on the lake?? haha wondering if they are real HP #s from the mach's makes me wonder. good race good story.

sweet! xxx, will you be in minoqua for the radar runs in the middle of Feb? A bunch of Yammi guys and I are headed up for the run.

Yea I'll be there at Crusier Fest, thats what your talking about right dlange. The guy with the 06 mach z is going to go also. He wants to hang out at the run, and he seems very cool.
2000, when you told your story about last weekend, I decided to run over there and see what was cookin. Thanks for the inspiration!

Actually my sled dynoed at 208 with 35.5 carbs, and I just put a mach z 38mm rack in, so I should be even higher now. So he probably wasn't lying.
Oh yea I forgot to tell you guys Iv'e got an m-10 in that sled to, and they don't transfer weight worth a crap right! Actually If you come up to crusier fest you will see the wierdest thing ever! For you car racing guys, ya know how a leaf spring car actually lifts the rear end up when you hole shot? The whole rear suspension on my sled stands up hard, planting the studs into the ice, and the longer shaft in the center shock actually extends out, the whole sled lifts way into the air. It has to do with the track angle vs. rear swing arm angle, it wants to push the skid forward lifting the suspension. Ya really just gotta see it, its the coolest launch ever!

Yea 2000 I'll be in town next weekend. We should go and hang somewhere. I'll pm ya with my phone #. dlang, look forward to seeing you at the radar run!

vipertripple, what pipes are you running/other mods and how are you clutched?

I have the new tripples from hauck (haucks husher) my clutch set up is on primary: haucks orange and 8dn10(from a 99srx 700), secondary: 51/43 helix and yamaha silver spring. carb: 148.8# on cyl number 1 and 2 and 150# on number 3, needle in 3rd and air mixture set to 2,5. I have also dropped the went hose from air filter box down in belly. (think its a little bit to rich but I really dont want to burn engine down)

I have just done these mods and not runned agains other sleds but I have testet it and it seems to hit hard :)

The pipes are designed to deliver at 8800-9100rpm. I was higher once than this but the driving conditions was not the best, was spots with clean ice.
Hoping to do some more testing this week and if it then rev to high I will have to drill out one rivet and replace it with a heavyer one.

I raced a new mach Z 1000 also and I thought he was going to cook me but it turned out that I beat him also. I know he was bone stock but Im only clutched...It was a real close race but I won by about 2 sleds lengths in a 2500ft race

Sniperviper,
what pipes are you running/other mods and how are you clutched?
The motor is a 900 stroker, with custom pipes, mach z carbs with 500 mains, the clutch setup would'nt work for you.
My trail sled is similar to yours, with stock SRX pipes, and CDI box. But it spins 8500 or so which is lower than you. But you sound close on your jetting setup. I think the 8dn-20's are supose to be a little better setup. I'm running a wierd clutch setup on mine. I have 8CA's loaded up with 14.5 rollers, with max perf purple primary spring, and silver in the secondary, hc-x roller.
blueflash, WOW thats really good news! sounds like youv'e got her dialed!
