Going to replace the transfer rods in my 01 srx this week and want to know if this is a big job? Are the wheels that have to come off press fitted onto the shaft? what do you do to get them off without much trouble? Any tips would be appreciated.

I saw some SRX's racing this weekend on ice and they didn't seem to transfer well like the other sleds that were there. Will these adjustable transfer rods help?

I'm not sure how everyone else does it but the the method I use to take the wheels your talking about off is to use a set of snap ring pliers and remove the snap ring, tap the wheel off the bearing and then use a puller to remove the bearing from the shaft.Once your ready to put everything back on press the bearing into the wheel and reinstall the snap ring making sure to press the ring completely into the groove with a set of pliers or a punch and hammer.Find a socket or piece of tubing/pipe thats about the size of the inner race of the bearing and big enough to fit over the shaft it goes onto and tap it into place.Make sure you put the wheels back on the same way they came off with the snap ring facing in.Thats about all I can think of that I do other than checking the bearings while they're off and repack or replace them.Good luck.
