With the weather the way it is,no rideable snow, I thought I might drain the coolant down in my SRX sandblast and paint the heads but I'm not sure what to put back on them for paint. My local autoparts store has a pretty good variety of engine as well as other high temp paints but will these withstand the temps of a liquid cooled engine?I would like to powdercoat them but thats too much $ right now so I'm looking at paint and I just need something to do right now or I'm going to go nuts.Cant ride it so I may as well customize it a bit.Anyone have any insight as to what I should use here? Thanks

You can use any really any type of paint. It does not have to be high temp either. Your heads should'nt get any hotter then 170 degrees in the first place. We spray my brothers srx heads with a krylon black paint. Not high temp and they lasted at least 1000 miles with no problems. We just masked off the plug hole and sprayed it without blasting it. Works very well.

i bought a brake caliper kit and used it on my viper heads without sandblasting them and it held up great and looks real good. oh and it was a ceramic paint.

Yes, that is what I was trying to say when I said Krylon paint. We just masked off the head and used normal black spray paint. Works great.
