I know someone at work that is buying aftermarket parts for his 700 MXZ, spending a shit load of money because he wants to race my sled. I'm totally stock, just clutch work and he wants to race me when he's done his sled. Why does everyone try to race a SRX, (any year) but they have to have work done? the way I see it if it's stock it's stock, sounds silly if your modified against stock how fair is that. I told him if he wanted a fast sled why didn't he buy a Mach Z or MXZ 1000. :die: :o|
 
Yeah, we have that here at work too... everyone want's to get past Rambunctious' (a TY member) 00 SRX. One guy (TY member Venomous) went out and bought an Attack to do it! Sheesh!!!

My next sled will more than likely be an SRX or SpartaSXR's Viper when he's done with it.

I can talk the girl into $$$ for exhaust, but wouldn't dare ask about blowing the cash on a shiny new sled.

How does that sound???
 
because the srx is a benchmark as being know for being fast. like beating a ferrari with a turbo civic. you beat the big dog, so now you can say for SURE you are fast.

You got that right, seen an 02 and the guy riding it happened to be the owner of my yamaha dealer and he ofered me a trade for my sled, and as he took off, wow, super fast!!!

Arent they also the most powerful stock 700 triple out of all the manufacturers and other sleds of all time, like 142hp? on the 00-02, and 139hp for the 98-99 SRX
 
You guys all pinned it - the SRX stock for stock can whip alot of sleds - the 01 shootout record still stands - that was the first year of the 800 twins and they all got there as*'s handed to them! - pis*ed Ski Doo off so much they launched a whole ad campaign trying to prove the shootout was bogus! - I know what you mean, all the guys I ride with have way more money in mods than I do and 9 times out of 10 I still whop em!
 
I have an 01 srx and my good friend just bought a new attack, I was expecting to get beat but it didn't happen. I can beat him pretty good. We didn't do any official race but I could catch him pretty easily. So far this year I've taken down an 05' Mach, 02' Mach, 06 Attack, 05'RX1 with my stock good running SRX. They are just plain fast!!

I must have missed those ads. Is there a link to them anywhere?
 
I wouldn't worry about it too much. My buddy has a 00 700 MXZ and my clutched 600 Venture is dead on with it till about 80 mph or so. From a dead stop I get 1/2 a sled then he catches me. From a 30 kph roll we're side by side. I think you'll still smoke him. Clutching is everything IMO.
 
right with ya. ive got a 1994 vmax-600 , all the guys i ride with have new sleds , mostly polaris, [600] .i dont seem to have a problem keeping up with them atall. im very impressed with the old girl. that being said ,the srx must be an awsum machine. I WANT ONE!!!
