engine wash

Is it OK to use spray-can engine wash on my SRX engine and then hose it off like you would with a car? Will the water drain out OK? I would do this in the summer so it would dry quickly.

Don,t use any high ph cleaner cus it will turn any aluminum black, it will oxidize some of your fasteners & weld em so they get real hard to remove.

start it up after and let it run warm up to evaporate the water off.then after it cools I spray the motor with WD40 it will prevent oxizidation of the aluminium

Try Gumout carb cleaner spray. Takes care of most of the oil residue and other funk that forms. Also works good in the belly pan. After cleaning with spray use warm soapy water to rinse out belly pan. Works for me......
