Top one is the new one... bottom one is the old, stock one (I'm assuming stock anyway). Notice the differences in the coolant passages... does this matter?

I still can't get my sled to run after chaning out the jug and piston on the pto side. I"m still trying to burn off the coolant that got into the crank case. I pulled the head off again just to give myself piece of mind that I am not wrecking my new $200 jug and $75 piston. I'm not. Look good as new... but that cylinder sure isn't running... piston top is still clean... and wet.

Also, what was should the gasket go? There is no top or bottom marked on it...

not sure but i think all smaller hoels do is slows down teh collent flow tehre so it transfer more heat to teh collen or maybe lets that part of the cyliner get warmer then teh rest. maybe a perfomance thing for equal cooling. but as far as i know id say ud get better cooling with the new one. but then againg i ahvent taken thermodynamics in school so im not too sure

Kind of what I figured too... better cooling.... and the holes in the new gasket perfectly match the cooling passages in the cylinder walls.
