does anyone know if there are any pipes out there for this sled. i know they made pipes for the 600 twin, but will that fit in the 2000 body style? and would it be the same pipes at the 500? any help would be great. thanks

Check with Hauck Motorsports. They had 600 twins for trailing arm sleds and I saw a race SX 500 with twin pipes.
Money
I have always been a tinker & pipe guy, but save your money on a 500. That is a plain & simple reliable woods sled. with pipes it would probably hang with a stock 500 of another brand. Find a 700 if you want more power.

i don't think there is a faster stock 500 around. the sxr's are much better clutched than the xtc and sx vmax. this 500 of mine will do 100 easy. and by the way, i already have two 700's. i just like to play with them to see what kind of improvment i can make.
what type of 500 is it that will do a 100? I have a 99 vmax and i havn't got a chance to ride it being summer.
any mods or stock? is that the same motor thats in my vmax?

it was stock when it would run 100. i think the base gasket is thicker on yours. but other than that, just the suspension front and back, and maybe some small gear changes.
