what kind of gearing changes has anyone have experience with, presently running stock gearing in a 700sx 23/40, and was wondering the benefits to going to a lower gear ratio, performance gains ect..., ......CP

I run a 21/40 set up in my sx and yes, there is a big difference. Much more low end power and mid range as well. Did not lose a lot of top end either. You can run a 22/40 and notice a difference also.

I'm running 22/42 in my 600 twin with a 136x1.25. Seems to work pretty well.
21/42 in my wife's 700 triple with a 136x1.5. She's happy so I'm happy.

if the sleds are geared for a higher top end than they could achieve, by gearing lower say 21/40 sx 700 could I still reach 100mph?? just get there quicker and watch out for the over-rev??
I have seen some calculations for top speed can someone explain this gearing rpm calc for me?
thanks CP
