would like to know which track to purchase, to gain more performance than the stock yokohama track......1997sx 700

camoplast, kimpex? 3 window designs vs. fully clipped designs?

thanks.....CP

i am using 9818 on my 02 viper and a ripsaw on my 04 viper. I think the 9818 is alot more durable but the ripsaw has a better grip. if you boondock alot get the 9818. just my thought

track

I have run camo predators on several sleds, and really feel they are the best. I forget all the facts and figures, but it is almost 10 lbs lighter than a Y stock track, (less rotate mass -ya!) and much more durable. Lastly the hook up is super.

:EXER: so what is better, the ripsaw or predator for me? im gona put 121" x 1.25" track on my sxr 500. i wus thinkin ripsaw . :ORC i don't wanna have to change this thing in a couple of years cause the trail screwed it up. sleds gona see lots of trail and i love powder . i'm gona have to decide soon caue i heard of a good deal on a 1.25" ripsaw brand new that dealer is dumpin cheap. :yam:

how much are you going to spend on the rip-saw? i was thinking that track would be the better choice....

will i lose top end going to the 1.25" track? versus staying with a 1"?
what about studs?

any opinions out there....thanks CP

track

 theres a dealer up here with one on floor for $600 canadian. ripsaws go for about $725 around here. and i don't belive in studs. :ORC
so whats everyones thoughts? :yam:

I'm currently running a 9837 on my Viper, 1" Predator, fully clipped. I trail ride in Northern Ontario. I'm very pleased with this track, no loss of top end, good fuel economy, corners great on groomed trails, night and day difference over stock track. It's a couple of pounds heavier than the stock Viper track.

The Predators are great tracks, 1" or 1.25, 3rd window closed or fully clipped. The RipSaw is also a great track. If you're strictly trail riding I'd lean towards the 1" Predator or the RipSaw. If you do a little more powder riding then go with the 1.25 Predator. You won't be disappointed with any of them.

thanks for all the replies....Ripsaw vs. Predator

has anyone raced similar sleds with the two different tracks...hook-up, top speed, trail, powder comparisons??

just narrowing down the decision...CP

I have heard forward bite is about the same. The ripshaw is said to have more side bite and better braking than the 9818. I personally run a 9818 and it is WAY better than the stocker. Either will make you very happy :yam: ;)!
