I originally installed a 53/43 Helix with Green Secondary spring on the Viper in 02. I think it works great! But I see a lot of people are using the 51/43, what's the difference? What do you guys that have either think of the setup? The only drawback I have seen is that I don't think I get that great of gas mileage any longer. Usually averaging about 10-11 mpg with a lot of wide open lake and road running.
Thanks

They are pretty much the same. The only difference is that the 2 degree steeper angle will upshift slightly harder, depending on who makes it. I would keep it if it were me as going to a 51/43 won't do you much good if you have everything already set up.

A 51/43 will just slow the upshift slightly (if the helix is made by someone who cuts the same) than the 53/43. If you are already set up for the 53/43 and it works good leave it.

I have a 53/43 with a 60 wrap and rest stock and love it. I corrected my past post that read 51/43 in error, sorry. Best easy mod to wake up the sled.
