I posted in vintage but not much response, thought I would give it one more try...

I found that my '83 SS doesn't have a comet 94 like I thought. It's a Powerbloc clutch and I cant find out anything about it (STFW- yes I did). Anybody got anything on these, or should I look for something else. Would the 94 be a better choice than a stock Yamaha clutch? The belt has about 1/4 inch clearance from the sheaves before it engages and I'm sure this is affecting its performance. Can these be shimmed to correct this or is it junk?

ditch the powerblock and 94 duster, get yourself a 102c.........you will notice a huge difference! or even a 108

Watch E-bay. Lots of clutchs , but you will have to do some tuning! Im sure the guys here will be able to get you real close with out to much screwing around. Make sure you know the size crankshaft you have before buying!

Just checked E-bay and theres several clutches on there that would work!!

Well, I'm going to show my age. I baught a Power-Bloc clutch new---when they were new---and ran it about a week on my '76 440 SRX. Didn't work worth a crap as I remember from so long ago. I still got it in my garage if you want parts.
Like the other guys said. You would be better off with a Comet 102C.

LOL :WayCool:

yeah its ok, I have bought helmets, tracks, pipes, windsheilds, and just a few minutes ago some ink for my printer, just make sure they have good feed back and I always pay through paypal.

EBay scares me. Guess it's time to get my cherry broke.
