'95 and '96 v-max cylinders the same?

i need a cylinder for my 1996 v-max 600 and was wondering if i could buy a used cylinder from a 1995 600. are they exactly the same? if not, will it still work fine? thanks

i'm pretty sure they are the same. the 97 are the year they changed. is this right guys?

It's possible that the 96 xt got the newer motor. I have a buddy with one and it jets the same as my 98. Had a 95 before and it used about 2 sizes bigger mains.

i bought a 95 cylinder and compared it to my trashed 96 cylinder and it looks the same except the intake on the 95 cylinder only has 4 bolt holes to attach the reeds and the carb boots and my 96 has 6 bolts. they take different reed cages and carb boots!
