I use amsoil gear lube, heavier than the chaincase lube. I change it every 1000 miles. It is easy and cheap to change, but its very expensive and time consuming if you dont. CHANGE IT OFTEN!

Amsoil gear lube changed every season.

I just change mine when ever something is broken... or I get a new track.. so in other words mine is brand new! And for the life of me I can't remember what I put in! I'm sure it was good though... the dealer recomended it over the yamaha lube. After all, we all know the dealer is never wrong!
Change ever year. Use Texaco Syn 85/140.
Every season. Motomaster(Canadian Tire) 75w90 Synthetic

I change mine every year and use the Amsoil and my chaincase is clean as can be every year. Like someone else said it is very expensive if you don't change it. Amsoil only cost me $5.00 a year.
Is this the Amsoil that you use or one of the gear oils

Yep that is it. Can't go wrong with Amsoil. I use it in my snowmobiles, 3 cars, sandrail, 2 4wheelers, snowblower, weed wacker, boat and my lawnmower.

i actually use the 75w-90 gear oil, not the chaincase oil, but the chaincase oil will work well too.
