Ok i remember exactly where i put my damn key and when i went to go riding the other day it wasnt there so now i have no frickin clue where this key is. I bought the sled used i dont have a backup. Since yammies have a 1 in 15 chance or something for key slots i tried 6 other yamaha keys and none of them would turn over. What do I have to do to get another key?!?

if you unplug the ign switch, and you make a jumper wire from the brown to the red/yellow, it will run.

Btw- it is true if you have the 4 digit number your shop can make you a replacement key, look in the owners manual and see if anyone wrote down the key number when it was new. I would also look in the tool kit, alot of people put spares in there, since its a yamaha and you never have to use the tool kit its a good place for it not to get lost.

If all else fails, but a key switch from a wrecked viper, they are around 15-20 bucks used

Yamaha stamps the code for the key on the bottom/side of the switch. Also, I would estimate Yamaha key codes to be at least 1,000, unlike Polaris and Artic Cat.

if you need it fast i can send you a switch with key, the no is under the rubber cover when removed. there are way more than 15, our dealer doesnt make keys they need to send out for them, cost like 12 with shipping

25 shipped priority mail

My uncle is gonna pick me up an ignition from a guy he knows that runs a junkyard for sleds. Thanks though
