Hi my buddy has a 2001 srx, and he is having some transfer problems, his track wont sit flat, if he is parked on a flat surface only 4 lugs touch the ground he has a 1. 25 preditor with a 192 studs, with zero take off. On take off i blow him away with my 97 sx and we have the same track and studs. On hard packed

What is the best way to set up his suspention with stock parts to get the best hook up.

he has crazzy transfer in powder sled stands straight up.

are his limiter straps pulled all the way up? let them out if... that helps for transfer, also if he has stock suspention, not long traveled.. he can move the transfer rods mount on the skid 2-3 cm forward .. important to move both the same lengt!! you have to drill new holes.. that will make it rip awsome out of the hole!! hope this helps!

You don't say whether it's front 4 lugs or rear 4??
Usually SRXs sit on the front lugs, which is OK but is hard on hyflax.
Make sure his rear spring is set on soft setting.
If it's setting on rear 4 lugs deff let out some limiter.

thanks alot for the info

ya it sits on the front 4 lugs, his limiters are fully loose but his rear shock was on the stiffest setting

"he can move the transfer rods mount on the skid 2-3 cm forward .. "
please elaborate on how to do this.

yes were i live some do that instead of bying adjustable transfer rods.. only works on 2000-02 model srx with short suspention.. and short transfer rods.
98-99 have longer rods.. its realy nothing to it, just drill 2 new holes for mounting the rods in the skid.. about 2-3 cm forward from were they are stock! by doing this
you change the angel and it hoocks up alot better!!! may want to tighten track also becouse it will "wheele" if limiters are all out..
my friend had a 00 mod with this mod and it was awsome! on hard snow he used to lean a bit forward not to wheele and he beat all sled he tryed against out of the hole. he also run 20-40 gearing..

This subject has always confused me, maybe because of the way I do it - I run my limiters tight and shorten my adjustable rods (same as moving back?) when I drag - sled stays tight to the ground and I get about 4 to 6 inches of ski lift - whenever I have done it the way you guys describe, the front of the sled ends up about a foot or more in the air - seems as though I'm losing track contact with the ground - do you actually get a better hole shot?

You are faster as you are describing it, getting 4 inches of ski lift. But for a lot of people it is a lot more fun to get flying holeshots, with a good foot of ski lift. Looks awesome, not so awesome for drag/speed running.

I thought the only way to really get it to sit flatt, was to have the suspension bottomed out. I have the maximum performance transfer rods. I think thats the way the skid is just designed on the srx???
