ok guys my 2000 sxr600 did this twice so far, she starts on teh 3rd pull when cold (good) and when hot she starts right up but lets say i stop somewere to eat and let the engine cool down for about an hour i have to constantly play with the chick to make her start, taking up to 20 pulls (happend to me last week and this week once)
btw, the temps were about 0*c to -10*C

whats going on?

Easy fix... just tell your sled it's 14-32 degrees F. Probably scared of those low numbers.

Sorry... are simply choking it till it's started.... then un-choking it once it's running?

what i do is i try to start it up a few times with chock and if no go i turn the chock off and tehn if no go try it with chock.....

try just bliping the trottle a bit with one hand and pull with the other with no choke, thats what i have to do with mine if its been running that day and i let it sit for any duration of time.

Exactly what I've had to do with mine since day one also! I just blip the throttle a bit while pulling on the recoil and it starts right up in one ot two pulls. Even my wifes 99' 600 with electric start needs the throttle blipped, you can crank for ever and not have it start until you give it a quick little blip.
