Sometimes when I start my 02 viper the oil light comes on. it might stay on for 30 sec to a minute then it goes out. The oil tank is full. It doesn't happen on every restart, only once and awhile. It never comes on again after it as gone out.
Ideas on why this is happening? bad level sensor? I've already armored the wire harness under the engine so I don't think it is a rub thru.
Thanks

as long as it goes out and comes on when the oil is low i wouldn't really worry about it, but that is just me. You could always try a new oil level sensor, i believe they are pretty cheap.

Just thought I'd followup now that I've had time to fix this. Turns out the wire harness was rubbing on the mag side carb fuel hose clamp and shorted the oil sensor wire out. When I added shielding to the under engine harness I didn't cover up that high.. Anyway it is fixed now.
One interesting thing. the oil level sensor reads "open" on the low ohms scale either in or out of oil. I wonder how those things work?
Thanks
Dan
