hey was going to try the base gasket mod on my 98 srx was going to add 2 base gaskets but now i need to know exactly how much to shave off my heads to try to gain back some of my compression. i know this is the poor man's port job but i don't have the money to get the motor ported so this is the next best thing i assume any input would be great guys.
Shave 30 thou off if you allways can get good premium. If not just wack of 25k.

cool thanks for the quick response turk. do i need to make ony other changes to make the most out of this mod? right now i have it clutched so that it pulls 8100 from the start at full throttle and climbs to 8350- 8400 shortly after takeoff. this still where i want to be after i do the mod?
Should be the same. That small change should not make a diff in clutching...sled will just pull harder.

thanks turk. keeping my fingers crossed that this makes a noticeable difference. will find out this weekend.
