Well that was worth it! Buddy and me left for Caribou Me. Sat and ended up coming home Sunday. They had some snow but due to rain all day SUn. it is pretty much gone now. Had a little scare on the trail too. 40 degrees is not ideal for riding but against my better judgement I rode anyway. MY buddy has 2002 Mxz 800 and as you can imagine we were running each other on the straight aways. I hate to be that guy but I did not bring my a game. He handled me pretty damn easily. I know he hasnt seen all that i can bring though. First off my sled hates warm weather. Very boggish on top end, just plain not performing. As it started getting dark and colder She started to feel snappy again so I started to instigate a nother race and all of the sudden my sled started to lose power for a very quick second. I slowed down and let off for a minute and she came out of it. It did it a total of 3 times and would quickly come out of it. Im sure you know what comes to mind first off but later that night when it was a little colder my sled was flexing her muscles and ready to tear the trail apart like she usually does. At the point of the brief power lossed I was right on empty with gas. My buddy said maybe I had a little airlock or water in the gas. I put a little of the red bottle heat when I fueled up and havent noticed anymore problems. Sorry for the novel but what do you guys think. Oh yeah his sled is picked, has a can, and clutched. What do I need to do to waste him and can I? I have a 99 srx 700 stock I believe.

Take off your carbs, clean them, check to see what you've got in there for jetting and adjust if nessecary. Wouldn't hurt to clean and synch your powervalves either. You could add a Tempa-flow if your sled is still boggy when it gets warmer. I could ride my SRX when it was -20F or +40F and it never seemed to run any different. Studs, transfer rods, and clutching will make that sled alot snappier too. Maybe gear down 1 tooth on top also?? My .02

Thanks, I'll take the carbs out and clean and check them. I cleaned Powervalves last year and never adjusted them after so im thinkin that would be a good place to start. Thanks for the info.

if you are set up correctly for conditions you should definately be able to take that sled.

The only thing I can think of is the temp being 40* I also need a powervalve tester bein g that the last tim e i cleaned my valves i did not readjust them and I think that was a mistake. Then again later that night she was a lot snappier but did not get the chance to run him again.
