Ok here my question, i have long travel'd my SRX and really had to crank up the rear spring preload to get the proper gap on my transfer rods(i guess because of my weight 220 w/no gear), is there any thing wrong or risk with that spring cranked almost all the way to end, there is only 1 to 2" left on the thread, would i be better off getting a stiffer spring, anybody run into this..........Reaper

ReaperSRX,
I would think you might want to get the heavier spring i went that way trying to get my sled to take the bumps better and puchased one from maxxximum performance which was way to stiff i weigh 190, but at 220 you could use the heavier spring, you don't want all that preload you want your suspension to stroke...i should have messed with the coupleing action of the skid more ....this sled skid either transfers or doesn't.....i will sell you this spring if you need it.
I've been doing alot of suspension reading but by keeping the FRA in the middle position B is the best and you can easily go up or down to suit your ride for the day.....but by going to a spring rate better suited for your weight and leaving as little preload that you can is the ticket ....i can't believe how soft my preload is set from where i started and then went to the heavier spring and now back but i have increased my center shock more and the ride is alot better.....get a car jack under the front and check when your ski's come off the ground and compare this to the front skid raising off the ground as well...adjust the limiter strap so the ski's are just skimming the ground, just as the front skid begins to lift...turn up the center shock 1/4" and go from there....hope this helps CP
